More Than a Weekend Away
The United Tang Soo Do Association Black Belt Camp is a three-day experience built around serious training, personal growth, tradition, and community. Participants come together to work hard, reconnect with purpose, and strengthen bonds with fellow members of the Association.
This camp is designed to challenge the martial artist while creating lasting memories through shared training, fellowship, and camp activities.
What to Expect

Training
Group workouts, breakout sessions, and focused instruction.

Testing
Shim Sa Dan testing, pre-interviews, and advanced preparation.

Masters Sessions
Advanced training with UTSDA Master Instructors and Grandmasters.

Camp Activities
Shared experiences such as tower climb, archery, and outdoor activities.

Fellowship
Spend meaningful time with the UTSDA community.

Recognition
Promotions, photos, and more.
Weekend Schedule Snapshot (Subject to Change)
Friday, March 27
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, followed by dinner, camp welcome, evening workout, and Masters activities.
Saturday, March 28
Morning workout, group activities, breakout training, testing, and evening bonfire celebration.
Sunday, March 29
Morning workout in white dobok, talent show, promotions, photos, lunch, cleanup, and closing ceremony.
What to Bring
Training Gear:
- 2 doboks
- White dobok for Sunday
- Sparring gear
- Staff, hopae, and sword as needed
- Pen or pencil and notebook
- Breaking materials for testing students
Personal Items:
Fitted sheet and sleeping bag
Pillow and pillowcase
Toiletries and towel
Pajamas and change of clothes
Tennis shoes
Water bottle
Flashlight
Insect repellent
Sunblock
Medications as needed
Poncho or raincoat
Camp Guidelines
All participants are expected to observe proper Tang Soo Do etiquette, use appropriate language and conduct, follow the buddy system, keep cabins and bathrooms clean, arrive on time, and respect camp property, leadership, and fellow participants.
Horseplay, bullying, threats, and unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from camp without refund.
Health and Safety
Basic first aid will be available for minor injuries and illnesses. Participants needing care beyond first aid will be directed to local medical providers in Pell City, Alabama. Families and participants are responsible for any co-pays, medications, and related medical expenses.
Check-In Information
Check-in begins Friday at 4:00 PM Central Time. Participants with completed forms and payments will receive speedy check-in and proceed directly to their cabin. Those with incomplete paperwork or payments will be directed to the registrar before receiving cabin assignments.
